There is no doubt that technology have advance beyond what we expect, challenges will occur to old regulation that has been around 10 to 5 years ago. In a country like China where there is lot of regulation on what contents they should put out on. One show in particular which is quite popular in the 90s to 2000s that shows lots of controversial topic which is Friends. Quite surprising enough one streaming website called Sohu once have the distribution right from 2012-2018 and showed Friends uncensored version, this also means that they could not access Friends after the year 2018. Years have passed without any content relating to Friends,then unexpected happen which HBO Max hosted a Friends Reunion where all the cast member are back together after the show have ended more than 15 years ago. This have sparked much interest in many markets, including China.
Things such as violent, inappropriate, unwanted content could easily be access easily through the internet.

Regulation is failing everyone would be an statement that I would have to agree, Having a regulation on certain things is beneficial for audience but having too much would create a backlash. Indonesia would be one of the example where regulations are out of hand. They would censored TV shows that involving blood by making a black white, not only that, if any scenes involves in killing in someone they would cut it completely. Shocking enough scene from a cartoon could be censored if any of the character wears a swimsuit. One of the episode of Doraemon that was aired in Indonesia got blur due
Making it not enjoyable for us viewers to watch. Audience wouldn't be satisfied with lots of this regulation like this, like when reddit got ban by Indonesia in 2014. Reddit is an Amercian social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website, it was banned for hosting adult content. Well in recent cases in 2022, steam, PayPal, epic game, and yahoo got banned. Steam and epic game are video game distribution service and software developer.

Contemporary media regulation reflects its period could be seen in the act of people accepting LGBT as a normal thing. During the 90s, a show got regulated by the US government due to a lesbian scene, it was done by over dubbing the episode. It was a Sailor moon show. Not only the US, Italy took action as well. Though that change, in recent movies like Buzz lightyear, The owl's house, eternal and more shows LGBT representation.
