What is Moral Panic?

Moral panics is fears that are spread by the media, something small that could get exaggerated by the media.

Process:

Concern: An event sparks social anxiety

Hostility: Subculture is seen as folk devils, targeted by media 

Consensus: Takes over the narratives

Disproportionality: threat is exaggerated 

Volatility: A change is  made in society 

There is one case in Indonesia where 10 women accused of being lesbians were arrested in West Sumatera, Police arrest them after uploading picture's of them kissing and hugging in Facebook.
