How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

The advertisement that I'm doing is for an American company Nike, Its a company that provides athletic footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessories. The advert will be focusing on giving the audience a message rather than promoting the shoes itself.  Its going to be focused on the main lead training for a competition. I have planned and made this advert in a way which will make it attract people everyone especially for those who are an athletic in the age of 13-28.

Most of the shoes advert out there including Nike ad itself most will showcase their newest shoes and will be focusing on the aesthetics and quality of the shoes. Though there are some advert that I have admired from Nike and other brand shoes, which is focusing on the story of the main lead. Nike has a lot of footwear from basketball shoes, fashion, tunning and etc., but in my advert i will be using tunning shoes to add in a new pair of shoes. my main lead will most likely be skinny tall and a bit muscular, like other adds

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My target audience for this advert is for everyone, though the main lead will be a bit muscular and skinny. I will focus on the struggle and hard work that the main lead have put on this adds, it is telling the audience that if you want to see result you need to do your best, this also relate people as well. The advert appeals to audience because I have put a message towards the advert instead of focusing on the shoes. My advert will be shown in social media such as YouTube,  and Instagram, this is because most of teenagers or young adult spend more their time scrolling through social media. The advert that I made will be using Todorov theory, its a theory where the storyline goes forward.

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

In the beginning of the project, I felt anxious as I'm not good at drawing at all, which mean illustrating my idea will be hard. However, as times goes by, I have practice on how to illustrate and showcasing my idea in a storyboard, so people could understand what message I'm trying to give the audience. Though it did takes time to finally make a decent storyboard.

There many changes towards my advert as it takes a lot of shots and it is to long for the advert, by cutting and changing a few shot. With this changes, I have realized that I need a better understanding towards camera angle and movement as it also help me decide which shot that are unnecessary. At the beginning of making this project I have thought of making an advert that shows the main lead progression from not competing at all to competing in a world champion. I have come to a realize that this is to long for an advert so I decide to change it. Making it to a simpler version of what I have thought at first. After finalizing my advert I have improved on my media and software skills.

How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

Over the course I have used Blog and YouTube a lot to help me find inspiration and taking notes for my advert. Using this online tools helps me a lot deciding on what advert I should do. YouTube have helped me on researching about advert and how to make a storyboard, there is a ton of adds that I have inspire and tutorials on how to make and advert and storyboard. Blog have help to share my idea an thoughts to my friends and teacher, by doing this it help me improve my storyboard and it help me a lot to make decision on what scene or shot I should use in my project.
