Shawn Peter Raul Mendes is a well known singer in the music industry, he is a Canadian pop singer who gained a following in 2013, when he posted song covers on the video sharing platform Vine. Vine was an American short-form video hosting service where users could share six second long video clips, and unfortunately the service got shut down in 2016 and has made numerous people famous including Shawn Mendes himself.
In his early years, he would taught himself how to play a guitar by watching a video online, and this lead him to post a video of himself covering well known songs such as Bieber's "As long as you love me" and Adele's " Hometown glory" which later then blew up in Vine. By the time he was 14, he had already shown popularity in Vine as well as Youtube with an outstanding 3 millions followers and he already began to write his own songs. Shawn Mendes popularity's online, particularly in vine, caught the attention of America talent manager Andrew Gertler in late 2013. Mendes signed with island record in may 2014 and release his first single," life of the party", was release in June and debuted on the billboard top 25 making him the youngest artist to debut that high on the billboard charts
