HOW DO YOUR PRODUCTS REPRESENT SOCIAL GROUPS OR ISSUES?
Our podcast represents religious, especially those who really believe in paranormal activities. We created a survey to know what the audience wants rather than what we want. From the survey, I concluded that a lot of people prefer horror conspiracy theory over anything else from the list and the result is unmatched. Honestly we do not use any representation for our podcast because we talk normally like how we would talk on a daily basis, and we do not intend to represent anything in our podcast it is just us discussing about horror story.
HOW DO THE ELEMENTS OF YOUR PRODUCTION TO CREATE A SENSE OF BRANDING?
I have listened and analysed 2 different genres of podcast which are horror and conspiracy theory, since our podcast is mainly about horror , our podcasts have a few similarities to other horror representation. Thumbnails and logo, are heavily influenced by two different horror podcasts though they have some similarities such as red, white, black as its colour and spiritual being in the logo itself and I feel like people would have an image of what our podcast is from their first glance. And I feel like our podcast name will give a hint to the audience that we are telling a horror story.
HOW DO YOUR PRODUCTS ENGAGE WITH THE AUDIENCE?
Since we created instagram and a gmail account for our podcast, I feel like we could engage with the audience more and have them involved in our podcast. We want to make the audience feel like they are a part of our own podcast and so we tell the audience to give us their own horror experience and of course we give them a shout out to have that satisfaction feel after their story gets picked. I believe satisfying the audience would be a great thing to do as well to promote( this could be done from the audience itself by sharing it to their friend or family) our podcast. Not only the audience, we promote our podcast as well through instagram stories, posts as well as reels. We could engage the audience by creating a quiz or poles in instagram and I feel like we could promote it in other social media as well to hit different audiences.
How did your research inform your products and the way they use or challenge conventions?
After doing this project, I felt like I've learned skills that I wouldn’t use outside of the media. Not only that , I have discovered a skill that I did not know I could do. From analysing a podcast, creating a social media account, and making a logo for our podcast. I honestly didn’t know that I would be able to make a logo for our podcast. I have used many software to help me learn these skills, premiere pro for editing our podcast, illustrator for making the logo, canva for making instagram posts. And I have also found references to make the logo as well as our instagram post. Another website that helps me a lot to put this project together is blogspot, it helps me to gather my ideas and references that I found on the internet and put it as one whole blog post. With all the references and ideas that I gather, we change a few things for our podcast from the name of the podcast to the logo itself. Those changes were done together as a team not alone. Overall, I have improved on certain skills as well as creativity to make this podcast together alone and as a team, I have as well improved on my team work skill.
